Cabinet Dechamps
Cabinet Dechamps advises you on your international tax and tax criminal law matters.
A deliberately narrow practice
The firm has chosen two specialisms rather than a general tax practice. International tax and tax criminal law share the same demands: high technicality, high stakes, and procedures in which an early mistake is hard to undo. The two often meet in practice, since a mishandled cross-border matter can end up before the criminal judge.
Background
A graduate of Sciences Po Strasbourg with a Master 2 in public law (top of his class), Maximilien Dechamps practised at the Administrative Court of Strasbourg and at the Banque de France, then within leading tax firms — CMS Francis Lefebvre, KPMG Avocats, EY — before joining the Paris Bar.
Method
Every matter begins with a written analysis of the situation and a detailed fee agreement, before any commitment. Exchanges with the firm are covered by legal professional privilege, including vis-à-vis the tax authorities. Consultations take place at the firm, in Paris, or by video conference, in French, English and German.
